Changes

Changes

A Poem by John Sullivan

changes
time and place

seek the truth
rise to grace

wind in your sails
you'll find the way

beyond the pale
you're here to stay

seasons turn like pages read
this road leads to where it's led

counting time when a man's so small
before you walk you'll learn to crawl

gentle soul, mark the time
though heed the Mariner's ancient rime

act with courage all the same
eager heart, your nature tame

time will pass, seas rise and fall
wrap yourself in kindness' shawl

all things pass, what comes will come
this path was only made for some

You'll know your path soon enough, but take your time and enjoy each phase and when it's time your path will be waiting for you... always be kind along the way... it pays off everyday..." all things pass, what comes will come, the path was only made for some"....

we can take the high road or the low road, is up to us. change is never easy but seemingly necessary. life is changing so quickly. perhaps a case of go along to get along ..:)

" ... all things pass, what comes will come , this path was only made for some". I love the way the last pair just quietly closes this thoughtful piece. ~Jim

Not at all. Thank you.
Enjoyed the write and how true. It’s really one step forward at a time during which change is all around us. I suppose time creates change with all things living being mortal.

Thanks Neville, always a pleasure
Change is the only constant to all of us. I used to try keep up with it, but as the needle edged from young to middle age to ever onwards, I realised that if you happen by a bench, make use of it and wait. Before long, what with change constantly well, changing... it won't be long before it comes by again and you can just tag it and say "you're it!" rather than giving you a Connery (coronary) trying yo catch up with the flippin' thing! 😊

Absolutely wonderful response. Thanks for your thoughts, Lorry
Kind of a poetic collection of thoughts that seems to gain speed as it descends to the bottom of the page. Things change and that is a fact and even that can change if someone decides that the fact is no longer. Nicely done.

I used to be a songwriter, so maybe the rhythm translates... Thanks for reading!

Those lines are beautiful for music. You can compose and put in utube
Your description of the journey we all face ... whether long or short is excellent ... the theme resonates with me ... the sea has a special hold on my senses.

Well done John.
