Golden Cage

I had a bird in a cage that sung

The bird had everything it ever needed

Food, water and shelter

But still i used to see a sad look on its face

and it never sung a song in her beautiful usual state

Why don't you sing no more?

You lived a happy, comfortable life in that cage

She looked at me with tears saying

A golden cage, is still a cage.

Hmmm...Joey, I have mixed feelings about this piece. On one hand - yeah, yeah, freedom! On the other hand, a golden cage with all your needs met, no predators can get you, and life is assured and secure. As you age, that becomes a little more appealing.

I agree with you, but at a certain age after seeing what all life have offered and what life has, I guess its best to settle in a golden cage, its more of a reward. and Ill be happy to live in a golden cage but I guess life still has its shackles over me lol
