Sleeping Genius

Sleeping Genius

A Poem by Janet Ferolito
"

Images of Dreamland

"
Whispers, darkness, written prose
Deciphering riddles, answers unknown

Spinning, dizzy, lie back on the grass
Images flashing, ghosts from the past

Skeletons dancing, ravens cry
Elegant music, dragons fly

Paintings of dreamtime, beautifully drawn
Priceless in value, vanished by dawn.

Maybe we are all geniuses in our dream states in the wild creativity that flies around our slumbering spirits. O to capture some of it and sprinkle it on the page. But as you say 'vanished by dawn.' But seriously, I prefer to write in the mornings and have always thought we are closer to our sub-conscious then. The evenings are for editing:)))
