Black Blood is bitterA Poem by Geo LawrenceRacism and everything in-betweenI wear the colour of my skin Like a thousand year curse Of my slave ancestors fettered and sardined To the plantain plantations of America. . I wear the colour of my skin Like a cloak of dank dolefulness Drenched in the black blood Of my folks wasted By white cops. . They say that black is bad blood They say that black Is a bright blight of nature. And justice applauds them. And fate and fortune favours them... . This is the memory spent On a cenotaph That will bear another black blood.
