linger

linger

A Poem by Jen

although the kiss was ending,
my lips followed yours
eyes closing,
breath halted
not wanting the warmth to leave me
yet the ghost of that kiss lingered
a haunting after glow of softness
as long as my eyes remained closed
i could hold that one kiss with me
you whisper...
"where did you go just now?"
smiling, i trail a finger over your lips
"i was right here"
i whisper back

The soft intimacy of a kiss lingers for a lifetime...
Oh, you can be such a romantic...
Tantalising with your touch.

That was a fantastic piece of writing I felt the innocence and passion emitted from this poem the longing for a kiss was truly inspirational My only criticism is that I wish it was longer the poem flowed perfectly and the structure made the poem easy to read I look forward to reading more of your work well done
