Yes, Life's Quite an Adventure

Yes, Life's Quite an Adventure

A Poem by Jennie Baron
"

This is my effort at creating a poem from song titles of one band, namely Yes.

"

If you take a (roundabout) route

To the (heart of the sunrise)

And find yourself on the (south side of the sky)

(Yours is no disgrace).
(I’ve seen all good people) lose their way

And when they ask directions

Get only a (long distance runaround).

You may even find a kindred spirit

To accompany you on that road

And you won’t be the (owner of a lonely heart)

Because (love will find a way) somehow;

It always does.

If not, (hold on).

Whatever happens, surely at the end of the journey

We’ll have (wondrous stories) to tell.

(And you and I) will drink and laugh

And tell all our tales

Like (starship troopers)

Returned from adventures on distant worlds.

Thank you very much! It started out as a fun game but I think grew into something really good.
OMG You have crystallized one of my favourite bands with immaculate precision...I have several of their albums (I collect vinyl) and I listen to them all the time...this piece brought a huge smile to my face...my library function doesn't work so I can't shelve favorites but it would definitely be going in there otherwise...this was a delight to read, can't say how much I enjoyed this one :)

For the record, Tales is my favourite ;)

I appreciate that! Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment.
Jennie, you've brought together very disparate elements/song titles and made them into a cohesive whole (something most bands only dream about). I can see where this one would be a winner! Great job!

Oh that's so cool it was a winner...impressive. That would be a fun thing to do.
This is an interesting poem. I like the use of parenthesis instead of just putting the titles in. Nicely done :)

This came out very nicely. Powerful message, especially in the first stanza, which resonates hard with my life at present!
