set me free

A Poem by J.A.N

You set me on fire, set me free

Burning inside, burning out

I never screamed for Mercy

Author's Note

I know this is a very short poem,
poem, if you'd like to call it that.

I had thought I could piece it together with
a few other lines I had written, but nothing
quite seems to fit. Thank you for reading.

I loved it.

I get what you mean by piecing it together with other lines but nothing fits; I have many of those pieces but I hold on to them eventually they fit lol but I am glad you posted this got me thinking I should post a few of mine

The words are just enough! It's amazing how a short poem like
that get's the mind spinning. The feeling I get from it is..sort of like..this person is burning because of someone, and it hurts, but she never tells him to stop.
It just sort of is.

Again, very simple words, yet they find the beauty in things that would not be considered beautiful. Mercy, hate, anguish, fire, hate, etc. I like this a lot.
