Pray away

Pray away

A Poem by Joey Martinez

God forgives but he doesn’t forget so don’t come to a belief that you’re debt free
The fear of hell has you in this spell of concern
What a fool you must be to believe you can pray your way into heaven to avoid the burn of your sins
All our skins will come near the flame and most of us will draw distance from the name of the devil
And we’ll look back at those who led the life of a rebel all to become nothing more than a vessel for hell
So don’t come to believe that by reading every story the Bible has told, wings will magically unfold and grant you access to heaven
We’re grown adults who know the consequences of our actions
I’m just a man who doesn’t believe that prayer takes away the fraction of the sin we committed
Temptations are a disease that has been submitted in us all
The more you give in the more you fall
