Heaven and Hell

Heaven and Hell

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Some say heaven and hell exists here on earth and you choose the path
You decide who’s wrath you wish to encounter, the savior or the prowler?
I believe we’re empowered by both
Most choose the man above while some fall towards the opposition of love
But who am I to judge what path people take?
I am just a simple man of many mistakes
Sometimes the path down below is too tempting not to explore
The party lies underneath the floor and some have a taste and come back for more
But I eventually made my escape to avoid an unwanted fate
I’m still a traveler I must admit
I know the right path to take but sometimes I come back down below for a dip at the lake of fire
Heaven and hell
Who rose who fell?
Another life is born, another story tells

I loved the way this poem unfolded. The lives we live, the stories we accumulate over the years are what counts.
Beautiful poem :)
