Life in the sun

Life in the sun

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Self care but you’ve become unaware from the constant stares and glares of those who love to watch you treat yourself with unfair nourishment
Words of encouragement are a rare case of spoken language when you’re surrounded by negativity
But now you see through the lens of sober eyes and realize the world is enjoyed the most when you become close to yourself
Mental health is wealth but those demons have become the master of stealth but now you’re clear headed enough to be tough
The rust is gone all the cylinders are on and you start to feel at peace
You fill in the crease
Now the demons begin to cease.... for now at least
It’s nice to feel like a human instead of a beast
