Tomorrow

Tomorrow

A Poem by Joey Martinez

It comes to my attention that many people have taken part of the election of surviving vs living
Taking it day by day while others plan for the future as if they know their stay is in the deck of cards that God holds
But will he fold and have you vanish or will you keep living and keep the advantage?
There’s so many people in this world who fear the uncertainty of tomorrow
So they drink away the sorrow or get high and borrow false hope from the dope
I was once this fool, who couldn’t gather the tools to plan ahead
I was alive but I was pretty much dead
There’s so much fear being implanted in our minds due to the rise of technology
We’re more aware of what was once rare to obtain
Are we going insane? Or are we too sane for our own good?
Social media has us talking to thousands of people but yet we still feel misunderstood
The mind wanders just like this poem
Yesterday was a vacation but is today or tomorrow our true home?
