Fools Paradise

Fools Paradise

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Vulnerable when alone due to the demons that condone those thoughts of unrighteousness
So you look for someone to fill the void to avoid the submission of your guilty inquisitions
Your eyes of tragedy meet it’s majesty but it’s just another fatality in disguise
Those tears of happiness will soon turn into cries of pain but for now, kick back and enjoy the rest from the oppressed state that once claimed
Indulge in the paradise of fools people call “love”
Cupid arrows rain from above and of course you believe you’ve been struck but you’ve simply been grazed
In the phase of head over heels while your “significant other” barely feels
Soon enough you’ll be left alone, a misguided drone with no destination
But like I said, enjoy this moment of false reality before you come back to earth and dwell
Enjoy the vacation in the paradise of fools before you crash land to hell
