Same old same old

Same old same old

A Poem by Joey Martinez

A schizophrenic without the diagnosis who supposes the world is after her soul
Using Marijuana and Whiskey as a shield to keep hold
Unaware it’s breaking her strength even more because those defensive tactics have become an offensive attack to her core
You can’t maneuver the Hallucinations of your future
They’re coming sooner than expected
Your sanity has been neglected and positive thinking has been intercepted by the drugs you indulge
Negativity begins to bulge and the brain can’t take the swelling of your dwelling
So you panic, the woman of comfort has become a frantic girl who’s afraid of the world
But you still have nostalgia, the deepest weakness in a humans life
You cling on to the past to avoid the demons of the future
Let go and dive head first
Perhaps a burst of sense will make its way into your brain
Or maybe you’ll die and remain the same
