Physical

Physical

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Physicality conquers all in a world where souls are appalled by most.
Even the ones that were sold contain no value and simply roast in a endless fire to help the devil acquire some warmth.
You see, its all about physical appearance that grants us the clearance to pursue who we admire.
We’re in dire need of significant others and don’t bother to know who lies underneath the cover of their skin.
It’s all about the looks and not what’s inside the book.
Some skim through the pages unaware their staring at a soul who’s gone through demonic phases.
But since their physically attractive they don’t mind being held captive by a face of distraction.
In love with the physical contact unaware the soul that lies beneath is in a contract with Lucifer.
Ready to bring life into this world with an executioner.
“Soul mates” is just a term used by fools who don’t use the proper tools to unlock the heart.
It’s all about structure and how we were built from the start.
Will we ever come across someone who can truly touch our souls?
Or will they continue to be affectionate towards our skin and bones?
