Drown

Drown

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Why do we settle for those who try to oppose the kettle of our thoughts that we love to drown?
Why must we censor ourselves to fill the Tetris spaces in society?
Ask yourself, have you ever been honest with someone other than yourself?
Those crazy theories, those moronic ideas, kept in a safe to help you keep place in this abysmal world..
You have so much to share, but you’re scared of being judged.
Seriously, has anyone spilled their mind onto another? Not a drop left behind, literally emptied every detail of what you believe onto another human being?
Of course you haven’t, and neither have I.
All we can do is settle.... settle for those who get close enough but we never come across someone who volunteers to hear it all, uncensored and uncut.
I know there’s a little insanity in us all, I’m willing to hear it, are you?
