Empty

Empty

A Poem by Joey Martinez

A so-called “emotionless” human being begins fleeing from their bare bones body due to the affections from another soul held in captivity by the nativity of feelings.
It wasn’t happiness that made its way into a decaying body, it was sadness.
But you loved it, you were stricken with pain and couldn’t obtain the knowledge on how can another being made you....feel.
There was no connection, there was no love at first sight, just a fight between you and the real you.
For the first time you felt like yourself, you felt the pain you’ve been hiding for years.
Imaginary tears turned into reality all because of this.... creature.
But they’re gone, you continued to sprout false imagery while they portrayed the truth.
You couldn’t handle the noose of reality.
You couldn’t believe a heart lies inside a body that has been deprived.
You don’t chase love you chase pain.
The feeling of feelings, you’re addicted and no longer empty.
