If Only...

If Only...

A Poem by Judy Ponceby
"

As though heard by a mouse.....

"
Sitting alone on a park bench,

listening to the dialogue of an old couple behind me.

I hear their low voices traveling memory lane.

Two souls joining themselves in a fantastic romance,

spanning decades, lifting upwards their very beings.

To cherish and love one another, beyond all others.

This is a dream I have of my own, to love someone,

as no other, to be loved by someone, as by no other.

If only.......................it could be.

Not enough genuine happily-ever-after people left, Judy--although, the spirit is certainly willing. Loving someone for a lifetime takes work, requires a tolerance for pain. We dwell in the Age of the Sissy.
Your work artfully projects a haunting dream.

I enjoyed this because i always accidentally eavesdrop on people. Nicely done.

So sweet, even a mouse needs to feel loved! Love the imagery!
