Seperate Destination

Seperate Destination

A Poem by K.C. Zbryk
"

Saw a coyote on the way to work.

"

It was a lonely feral dog

A coyote wandering in the rain

It looked up at me

Pausing for only a moment

Perhaps contemplating

My purpose

My reason for being in

The same spot at the same time

As him

In the end

The only logic I had

To offer my soggy friend

Was we both had places to be

For separate reasons entirely

kind of scary being in the presence of a coyote. you were going to work to put food on the table. and he was probably going out to look for food which would also be work. cool poem.

This is an amazing piece of writing. It's astonishing how we bump into beings but are heading in entirely different directions. Superbly written. The brevity of this write makes it powerful -- particularly the impact of the last line.
