After the Storm

After the Storm

A Poem by SPINNING ON that dizzy edge

This cold and snow filled morning

came peeking in the window

adding colors of persimmon, gold and violet

to sparkling white down below

How blessed I feel to notice

Silent beginnings of this new day

Held and awakened by the stillness

Beyond yesterday’s stormy disarray

We’re given gifts like this grand morn

Not paper wrapped with bows

To fill our hearts and ease our souls

Lest to take us where life goes.

Very nicely penned. Good rhythm and flow. Paints an elegant yet surreal picture of the crystalline prism noted when looking at snow and sunlight through glass. It is natures cystal.

Yes, it is a cliche to say but the best things in life are free and this is a perfect example of that. These are the little moments that give your spirit a lift and reading your words here just lifted mine. Lovely.

This poem is really really great. It focuses on simple gifts and I absolutely love that. The meter and rhyme is so subtle that I didn't even notice it until after I'd read the poem twice. This poem is like a good milkshake, it's smooth.

VERY much enjoyed.

Beautiful and flowing.......just like spilling a handful of snowflakes into a soft wind to blanket the earth with winter's icy majesty!
Lovely!

The silence muffled because of the snow and the crystal clarity of both the weather and this poem are unique.
