Summer's Grace

Summer's Grace

A Poem by K. Sikes
"

I've learned to celebrate the times I had during the Summer, rather than to mourn the end of them.

"
Summer's Grace, where have you gone?
Why do your leaves bleed brown?
Once a pool of softened shade,
Now crackles when I step down.

Your baby birds have flown the nest,
Your shine a fading glow.
The piercing heat has simmered down,
As Autumn's breezes blow.

Although I mourn your moving on,
And long a Summer's set.
The cool air whispers against my skin,
Even greater will it get.

Fall is here, you can't deny,
Nor would I even try to.
Summer can't be thrown away,
It's a feeling that lives inside you.

She hibernates and waits her turn,
As seasons roll on by.
Planning every rainfall,
Every sand crane in the sky.

I'll see her in one year,
For Summer is a friend.
I never fear her absence,
Because the cycle will never end.

Great poem K. Rhymes are perfect and the flow from line to line is easy. Your message is a strong one many can relate to and each stanza describes your feelings nicely.
