The rent

The rent

A Poem by KaplanKop

Look over there, that cherry blossom,
Purple leaves and brown falling down,
A cartoon like sky, shades of a hundred blues,
Leaves with yellow on the edge and dark green in the middle,
Why couldn't life be this simple?
Simple as describing what I see, a few colours here and there, those leaves, this tree.
But no, here I am. Landlady beating my door down. I'm trying to stay as quiet as possible. She might give up. I had no money.
The duvet is damp from the wet cold in the living room (I walk around with the duvet on, it's always cold). The boiler's leaking and the bucket I placed under it to catch the dripping is spilling over. She should be gone in five minutes. I'll take care of it then.
But look at those birds out there,
Brown, red, twigs a hundred shades of brown,
So delicately placed there by the winds,
Just beautiful, and that's how it should be.

Yes, beauty is always there in nature. It's the details of the day to day that suck.
