Life

A Poem by KaplanKop

We collect and build,
And admire,
We stop to think,
Then remember we have no time to think,
We are in a rush,
Such little time, but such little to do,
There isn't enough for everyone,
Because we don't want there to be,
We cheat, and are callous,
Because nature is callous,
That look of boredom and tiredness,
The feeling of going nowhere,
But there is something there,
A baby, a lover, a good conversation,
The heritage of centuries gone by,
It's carrying us, you,
White dresses and swing dancing,
The boom and bust, the nuclear bomb,
Those Russian enemies, and now here we are,
We're here now and there's a lot to get on with.

An indictment, a complaint, a call to arms. This one has all of them. A pity it is how few pay attention.
