The Me I Wish to Know.

The Me I Wish to Know.

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

....

"
Every second kills the second that fathered him,
dragging humanity forcefully into a foggy dream,
I know who I was, I know who I am,
Who I am to be in the next second lies ahead of me.

Though, he is who to come but already in memory,
I keep struggling all day to see him comes to reality.
Here I am hustling, facing challenges and difficulties,
not for the man writing this but for him who I am to be.

Like an artist in my hand lies the chisel of my life,
giving to me to carve the statue of that me I desire.
Though, I never knew him but he's there looking at me,
believing that someday, he's going to be a better me.

Thank you so much, Choosen.
I'm glad you like it.
I think your poem conveys an obsessive concern with self -- not a bad thing, but realistic in many people. To me, this is the fatal flaw of humanity, people going around examining themselves with a magnifying glass, in contrast to living a life more concerned about others. Your poem feels like it has a bit of a neurotic quality, the way the typical perfectionist is constantly checking her/himself in the mirror & in everything he/she does. I love that this poem is totally realistic & recognizable & it gives off the very FEELING of this kind of person & most people are self-absorbed until they work real hard to stop being that way. It's a natural progression of living (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

That's really a powerful one, Margie.
Thank you so much for that wonderful insight.
You can be anything you want to be if you believe...dreams never end...we are the ones that prevent ourselves for being whatever we choose to be...🌹

Kelly, you are right!
Many people run away from the challenges should have made them great.
It would work you would think but the brain is all that stands between us and a heavenly existence after death. Let me lead you where I am.

The ever changing kaleidoscope of thought, actions, hopes and being that never stand still long enough for us to know more than the briefest image and direction we are currently travelling in, hoping that we are on the right path and won't need to double back on ourselves, which we no doubt will at some point.
The mistakes as important as what we get right, so long as we learn from them and always strive to be better than the us we are in this moment.
Very nicely captured words of hope for a better us and better tomorrows.

No way man. If you are not good and think good thoughts and kind and think kind thoughts you will be dead to the Infinite Awareness and in the same stinking mess you would have been had you chosen Satan. You are the driver. Load your truck with goodness and take it powered with kindness to the next environment where you are loved and not into suspicion, mistrust even violence or perversion. If you drive yourself and yourself is empty or unknown I do not want to know what you bring. Bring goodness by kindness I will be the best friend you ever had by the Infinite Awareness into whose mind we approach quantum circuitry, my very own mind. Get ready to drive a good truck and be kind let me make you who you are and give it back to you good and let you drive anywhere in mymind.

Thomas Wolfe said every moment is the sum of forty thousand years, and this poem says something similar. The speaker realizes the person of the future is being created today, and takes the responsibility seriously. All those who truly believe in possibility and potential feel this way. The differentiating factor is that some will persist and some won't.
PS: Consider taking the s off comes in the 2nd line of verse 2.

Alright, John.
Thank you so much for the thoughtful and wonderful review.
I can identify with this. They say you are what you think. Many visualize what they want to be and picture the scene as if it already happened. If we work hard enough and persist, our dreams are obtainable.

Nice writing, Kay.
