The Real Unreal

The Real Unreal

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

....

"
"Where am I?" I do ask myself
every time my mind feel intensed.
I see illusion lying everywhere
dragging everyone through heaven and hell.

The mirage of life glittering deceit,
giving birth to hatred, war and greed.
It throws the world into hallucination,
mesmerizing it with endless fantasies.

Reality is drowning in the ocean deep
forgotten somewhere dark and scary
waiting to be remembered for what it is
but no one seems to notice it missing.

Then, I remembered that life being colorful
doesn't has its root from what we see.
If we can just look above the rainbow
we'll see that light is beyond the blue and green.

I agree dear Kay.
"Then, I remembered that life being colorful
doesn't have its root from what we see.
If we can just look above the rainbow
we'll see that light is beyond the blue and green."
The blue and the green. We can hope to see. Thank you, my friend, for sharing the amazing poetry.

Actually, some religions teach that all physical life is an illusion, and that the purpose of life is to rise consciously above that illusion. As you say, what we have to do is look above the rainbow.

Oh, the third line....I love the double meaning of "lying" there.
And I wish I were taller, not only in stature, but reason, then I might look above the rainbow.

Happy New Year Kay.
Your thoughts on Life are profound and thought provoking.

I do find line two a bit off though ... "every time my mind feel intensed" ... perhaps "every time my mind feels intense" would work better.

All in all, a good poem.
Keep it up.
