Not Till Then!

Not Till Then!

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

...

"
Looking at my past so gloom and scary,
I saw my paths dappled with so many blunders.
These throbbing memories never stop haunting me,
even though I tried not to ever remember.

When guilt and shame kept me in fear and pain,
then I realized that past are not meant to be erased.
The deeds are done but correction can be made.
Then why do I have to die before my day.

I think all of us have at one time or another made mistakes. Decisions regretted. Not one of us is perfect. We need to learn from the errors and ensure we don't make them again. We should strive to improve ourselves.

my pleasure my friend and doing fine :)
The past can accuse us so loudly. Luckily mercy and love can silence that mob.

And then we can enjoy life.
Thank you for that wonderful review.
but think about this...if the poet is the speaker here....those blunders have helped shape who he is...so they were as necessary as the good decisions in his life.

That is true, Jacob.
Thank you for that insight.
It's tough not to analyze our past mistakes. What we could have done differently but sometimes that can be a trap. That guilt can lead to dark places as you stated. Learning from our mistakes and evolving into a better person is something we can strive for. A great read.
