Bonfires

 photo Fire_of_Love_by_RedifineMe_zps8b7d3e6d.jpg

 Days are drifting astray

Light it ablaze, close beside you

Is where I want to stay

On the white sands by the Caspian shores

Looking at the night blend in with the waves

Fragments of shells under our feet

Fearless we lay counting the stars

Bonfires take us away

To jazzy skies of grey

Intoxicated by flames reflected in your eyes

Far far away I hide and seek, forever yours

Love like embers implanted in your cheeks

Your fiery smile in the cool breeze

Romantic music sets the mood to please

Roaring with the wind, screaming your name

Chase after you through the seven seas

Bonfires take us away

To a mystical place where the moon and the sun

Kiss and exchange glances, summer and winter romances

The life within a glimpse of an eye is an eternal lullaby

Put me to sleep, some dreams I forever want to keep

Your presence and essence with absence of doubt

Like a candle on a table shedding warmth out

Bonfires take us away...

...Towards an endless love

I saw the pic.the title and I KNEW THIS WOULD BE FANTASTIC WORK. There is something magical and romantic about the glow of a bonfire. The smell...the sparks...it inspires the heat of love.

To jazzy skies of grey
Intoxicated by flames reflected in your eyes
Far far away I hide and seek, forever yours
Love like embers implanted in your cheeks
Your fiery smile in the cool breeze
Romantic music set's the mood to please
Roaring with the wind, screaming your name
Chase after you through the seven seas
Bonfires take us away

I love how you ended every thought with the "Bonfire's take us away" such a fluid read. A favorite.

another thing..Put me to sleep, some dreams I forever want to keep" that saying is worth quoting over and over again...dreams and words to live by. xo

Haha i'm getting mixed reviews on that line, some people didn't appreciate it
This is so soft and romantic and so wonderfully written. There is nothing quite like a bonfire on the beach on a warm starry night with someone you love. Your poem creates some lovely imagery and enables the reader to drift away to a place free from the worries and trials of this world.

Second stanza: "set's" should never have an apostrophe.

"Intoxicated by flames reflected in your eyes" That is really a wonderful line. Although, in the line before it, "jazzy" is out of place with the mood of the poem. While yes, it is intimate and "romantic", the imagery gives a darker sense, or side, of romance.

Ahh, can't have a romance poem without the sun and the moon, can we? I know that sounds sardonic. And it probably is. But it's fine, just cliche kinda. It's a good piece. It was refreshing to not read something incredibly mushy. Nicely penned.

I'll edit the sets part. Showy yet mysterious is what I meant by jazzy skies. As regards to the sun.. read more
The imagery and the flow of the words was just so perfect, and the picture matched it beautifully. Wonderful poem! :) 100/100

I love the connections that run through this piece...sun and moon, fire and water, stillness and movement...and there doesn't appear to be a wrong choice...the common denominator is simply having the company of this person, and that's all that is needed for happiness...nice work my friend :)

Beautiful. I hate to leave just a one word review, Keegan, but there is no other word to describe this --beautiful-- piece. Period the end. Beautiful.
