Matheran

A Poem by KeeD
"

A poem about a beautiful Indian Hill station.

Invisible to the naked eye

Hidden amongst the clouds

Magnificent throne of the sky

Making India proud

Fresh streams flow down your cheeks

Like a good old morning cry

Just a poet trying to reach your peak

Meditating in the Indian sky

Railway tracks climbing up your spine

In the pursuit of an adventurous climb

Embracing the sunshine

Experiencing natures prime

Wild horses run free

Like a scarf floating in the breeze

The whisper of the Arabian sea

Demands the dancing of the trees

Uplift me to the northern gates

Looking heaven in the face

Sitting in your lavish green estate

Never wanting to leave this place

I'm home Matheran

Author's Note

To travel to Matheran you need to park your car below and catch a tram that takes you up the hill. The place is so beautiful, it has wildlife, monkeys, scenery to die for and most of all it's peaceful. You feel at one with the earth, it's like mother nature planted a kiss on the cheek of the mountain and you can feel the after effects of her love.

I felt the peace here, you took me on an enlightened journey, lulls you into a harmonious state of being with the majesty of that mountain. The music adds to the ambiance of it all...touching upon more than one sense with this read. You've made it so tangible, I can practically breathe the fresh air within your work.

'The wild horses run free
Like a scarf floating in the breeze
The flowers playfully wink at me
As they sway in rhythm to the buzzing bees'

Winking flowers, love it! You are growing as a poet in leaps and bounds my friend...just lovely. Can't say more.

Oh my god, you should feel the vertigo going on inside me right now looking at that stunning picture. Coupled with your exquisite words (not to mention that enigmatic music) I can think of no other place on earth that I would rather be than on this page. You've consumed me...mind, body, soul...

But. I had to laugh conjuring up the image of a tramp carrying tourists up a hill on her back xD

Love you, S&L ;-)

Thank you BR!
Very peaceful... I enjoyed this one alot...

Fresh streams flow down your cheeks
Like a good old Sunday morning cry
Just a tourist trying to reach your peak
Meditating in the Indian sky

The trail is tricky and the air heavy
The locals friendly and always ready
To lend a helping hand
For a foreign man to attain spirituality

This was my favorite part...
Lovely work my friend!
