I dealt with many of whom I thought were old habits...but those habits hid...and some of those nuns were actually super young....because they were still alive long after I graduated college the second time.
But I do love Peter, Paul and Mary...something my dad and I had in common...he saw them in concert and always played their CD's...
Nice memories here for me of my dad...not all so nice of the sisters...

I bought albums by Peter Paul and Mary , the Old habits do die hard , but I still play their music
Mind you , Ken , your poem might be a name Coincidence poem , Hard Tacked sisters , they were something hard to chew on , I don’t know who Peres was or is , maybe a Saint , from a Mexican area
Anyway apart from thoughts on your poem , it was a Great read

I'm so glad I was spared the rod of parochial schooling. It might have ruined my faith in education as well as my education in the faith. A very good professor friend of mine, Dr. Ballard often chided my oldest brother when he'd evangelize that he ought to learn how to relax a bit and live the faith rather than simply quote it chapter and verse. He said, "You're apt to make a great many more converts by that method." Dr. Ballard passed away about eight years ago from throat cancer even though he'd never smoked. I remember him telling me, "We never know what indignities we might have to suffer in this life but we can try to face each of them the same as a honor. Try to remember, son, that most of it is only vanity, anyway." He was one of the most remarkable men I have ever known. I enjoyed your poem.
