Can you see through the cracks?

Can you see through the cracks?

A Poem by Kevin Holloway

For a long time I've tried to buy myself some shining armor
And as long as I can remember, I've always looked behind

It's no longer as easy...
Running, laughing, jumping, crying because it's me.

My body aches from this rusty suit
With every turn I leave trace of it

I want to be naked, running through my life
I want to be weightless and unencumbered

But my ingrown shell wont come off
It's stuck, sticking - stinking of me...

-

Now each beat of my heart quakes my demeanor
My skin's cracking and falling off

I better start saving up for a new one...
Because no one wants to talk to a skeleton

Why didn't you tell me you were writing all this poetry?
It's wonderful, really.
The last line of all your poems is always so powerful, much like the rest leading up to it and this one is no exception.
Great write-it really made me think.
I really enjoyed it :)
