Resurrecting A KingdomA Poem by DaydreamerThe people of Ryukyu (Okinawa) open their doors
A quiet storm brews inside my heart.
As I deliver this message of resurrection When the storm unleashes Fear not. Others will run and hide But our people will soar. No longer will our voices be unheard, Or our futures uncertain We have been sleeping And rendered guilty For turning the other cheek. Pretending to be sheep Amongst a pack of wolves. No more will our passivity hinder us. For a slave is but a master in disguise And we are the masters of own fate. We have been a broken kingdom far too long Now is the time to take back what we gave away. Our pride, our power, our spirit. It is time we hold our heads high And unite as ONE For this island is part of us all And it's burdens must be erased. It is up to each of us To change the collective consciousness Surrounding this place. The island of peace must now be known For its prosperity. Today we show the world We are indeed, awake. And that our light can never be extinguished For inside of all of us Lie the spirit of a Kingdom Ryukyu, Ryukyu, Ryukyu May we rise again! © 2014 Daydreamer
