Rainbows & Butterflies

Rainbows & Butterflies

A Poem by Daydreamer
"

For Isabelle...

"

Not everything can be rainbows and butterflies
Impossible to exist eternally on cloud nine
Our human mind tries to solidify
And force ourselves into complacency

Our emotions are vast as oceans
Like the waves crashing causing commotion
Forgetting moments are only temporary
Just like you and me

We are the raindrops precipitating
As our bodies begin the process

Of disintegrating
From flesh to bone planted amongst the Earth
To more life she constantly gives birth..

No, not everything can be rainbows and butterflies.

But you are an exception

An example of Nature working in perfection

Because energy never dies.

So I know after the rain falls and the clouds separate

All I have to do is look up

For you are now part of the rainbow and the butterfly.

Simultaneously existing as one

And when my times comes

I'll be right there with you...
