May I ask

May I ask

A Poem by BlackLace

May I ask...
How many wishes do you carry upon your back?
Whisper to me the dreams many a soul has
Shared with you.
Tell me a secret...
For I know you have many.

How many lovers have kissed in your presence?
And how many have you seen torn apart?

I wonder,

For I have stood here before,
With damp cheeks and crimson eyes...
Have you seen my tears?
Have you shared with me my sorrows?

All these hopes and dreams must weigh too
Heavy on you,
For as I stand here now,
Gazing up into dark brilliance..

I make one last wish on you...
My falling star.

Where did you get the inspiration for this one? What a lovely thought - that a star sees so much. I like this very much.

loved it :).....................
A beautiful and amazing poem. I like the poem. Create emotion and thoughts for the reader. The goal of the writer. I like the way you wrote the poem. Had a personal feel to the description and questions brought to life by the poem. I like the ending. All of us want to wish for something good on falling star. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

:) thank you
This is beautiful.
A tenderness I did not expect from the name BlackLace...my fault.
I really enjoyed the softness.
Perhaps I have seen your tears..maybe in the ether you have seen mine.
I really liked this.
