And The Heart Beats Sorrow

And The Heart Beats Sorrow

A Poem by BlackLace

Please,
I thought you were my one...
My heart ached for you every moment we were apart.
Oh my love...
The tears I have shed!
Rivers have formed from my weeping.
How long has my chest been heavy with sorrow?
Even now,
I approach you with a swollen throat.
I cannot breathe...
Cry...
How can one be so conditional with love?
Can't you see I hurt for you?
Where is my compass now that the seasons have changed?
I am lost...
Oh God...
God I need strength!
I lower my head darling,
Peering up, is there any love on your face?
I see only scorn.
Oh my breaking heart...
I want for you like no other,
Only...
How you despise me!
Why?
Why must you take and take? Standing above me, finger pointed.
Selfless was my love for you.
Fighting to patch up our wrongs.
Yet when I felt pain...
You turned it back to you.
So now I am crying...
And the tears fall...
I sob for you sweetheart...only, not how u might think.
I am sad for you dear...
You were once my angel,
How can you be so wrong?

A sad and emotional ride in the poem. When the heart and mind is broken. Hard to understand why.
"I am lost...
Oh God...
God I need strength!
I lower my head darling,
Peering up, is there any love on your face? "
Sometime we hope for things that are not there. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

:) perhaps I am not alone in this feeling. It's easy to believe you are. Thank you :)
I feel a lot of sorrow here..the hurt exudes from every line.
You described your pain well..I felt it.

I see only scorn - nothing can be as devastating as seeing that in the face or hearing it in the voice of someone you thought loved you. A very moving write.
