I actually like this one. It just played, fully formed, in my head, and I was like "WIN!"

-vocal solo, softly, maliciously-

It’s 3am and and you’re still not sleeping

Remember when you used to dream?

You felt alive and your life was so, so sweet.

 

-band kicks in-

Freedom’s fun, only you don’t have it;

You caged yourself the day you claimed it

Where’s the flame?  You used to burn with

Liberation in your soul…

How fun to watch you dwindle away.

 

HA!

 

You’re bitter and you’re twisted, have you

Sold your soul are are you just disillusioned now?

-innocent voice-

Maybe the world’s just not what it used to be…

-maliciously-

Maybe you should’ve quit while you were free!

 

When’s the last time you felt needed?

No-one likes a f*****g loner

Where’s the Love, you ask yourself while you

Wait for me to dig you out of the hole

You got yourself in

 

-distortion on mic-

Find your own f*****g wings, I’m DONE.

 

You’re common and deceitful and you

Think that the world owes you every f*****g thing

-mock innocence-

Maybe the blame can’t be put wholly on me…

Maybe you should have listened to me!

 

-sinister kindness-

I know these things, my darling,

And I’m only doing what’s best for you.

-echo-

 

-scream, music ends abruptly.  A news article can be heard telling of a young girl who committed apparent suicide after her family died leaving her alone and isolated. It fades out gently, while stating that she had become a social recluse.  He suicide note told of a mysterious woman named “Alice”, whose harsh words drove her to suicide, though neighbours report that nobody had entered or left the flat for weeks-

 

-malicious female voice-

Sweet dreams.  Mwah!
