The Pearl of the Word

The Pearl of the Word

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

My thoughts are sad and lonely.
The time we have left
does not beg for mercy.
I lock the last of my fear
in a heart-shaped box,
hide in a drawer what was once called
your soul.

The pearl of the word
presses my tongue,
the dreamed past is ashamed of
its beauty.

Come see my dreams bloom.
Feel your bitten life bleeding.
Frosty fire sleeps in my blue hands.

Love was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Loneliness will remain incapacitated.
Leave me as a souvenir
the lost echo of your whisper.

Give me a hurried kiss
I will hang on the wall.

Powerfully expressed emotions here. Splitting up is hard to do. When two become one, it is a lonely and painful experience. I felt that pain in your lines. First of yours I have read Katarzyna. Pleased I stopped by. Looking forward to reading more.

When soulmates part ways... This is what went through my head as I read this. All that remains is pictures, memories, and heartache. You capture this so well.

Silence is golden, only when it is shared, for our words and emotions have a life and a will of their own, and it is only by sharing with others that we learn how to share them with ourselves. :)
