The walk away

The walk away

A Poem by M.a. Benjamin

“I’ve never felt this bad” you sob

yet your eyes tell a different tale

A notion that trust lost all value

As I turn my back from that banshee wail

The lock is turned

a mind was made

a bag is packed

my feelings fade

all that's left is the lonely walk

and the cadaver of guilt

that wishes I stayed

This has a great impact on me...
It really does.
I love how in the middle everything is staccato and fast
It's very good,,, as well as honest.
Most poems you see nowadays are good, but they're not honest.
This was good.

Moving. Packing up and leaving is always difficult, no matter what reasons we may have.

Excellent poem! With the "cadaver of guilt" expression in this poem, it serves its purpose.

Great emotion, the imagery is vivid as well.
It's concise, but none-the-less, moving.
A beautiful piece, I love everything about it.

I really like these lines the clever way you described the imagery in your poem but still managed to make it rhym good job its not an easy feat. Rating this poem 91 for a really nice job. The lines above it felt as if you were trying to say all the things in the world that happen all at once and finish all at once but no one ever apreaciates it because no one really tends to think about it.
I got to admit i would like to know what inspire you to write this poem? Feel free to message me it and check some my stories or poetry out if you like. Good read and keep it up Benjamin.
