The walk away

“I’ve never felt this bad” you sob

yet your eyes tell a different tale

A notion that trust lost all value

As I turn my back from that banshee wail

The lock is turned

a mind was made

a bag is packed

my feelings fade

all that's left is the lonely walk

and the cadaver of guilt

that wishes I stayed

The last line, was too touching. If the trust was kept safe, if betrayal word was never encountered, life would have been something else. The separation would have been never seen, the lonely path would have never been walked.
