Weeping WIllow

Weeping WIllow

A Poem by LeDiisco
"

I wrote this for an acquaintance that was always self depreciating. Her entire existence reminded me of a weeping willow. She became the gravity that kept herself down.

"
Weeping Willow, Willow Tree. Drooping sad for the world to see.
You blame all your faults on gravity for keeping you low to the ground.
Your flaws are your leaves, which you throw to the floor, left for others around.
Blocking the light from reaching your roots, though sun is what it needs.
The only thing that will grow with you is depression, rot and weeds.
Yes, shade can be lovely - and sometimes what is desired.
But doesn't sitting in the dark ever make you tired?
Only you can help yourself and let the sunshine in.
Others can hold your branches up, but like that you'll never win.
Shed your leaves, shed your branches, live a little lighter.
As you grow a little stronger, your life will soon look brighter.
Only you can help yourself and how you want to be,
So society can stop perceiving you as just a dying tree.
