Stars

What do they bring to you every night?

Looking up at the stars tonight

Their glowing color is such a sight

Just sitting under them feels so right

I let my hopes and dreams take flight

 

Dreams of faith and love

hopes of life being as innocent as a dove

Fantasies of everything fitting like a hand to a glove

Prays of a great ending above

 

Eyes sparkle as they search the sky

Searching for the brightest one so high

I reach my hand up, I want to touch, I try

Even though I can't I smile, no tears I will cry

 

What's in my heart is something no one can steal

The emotion that makes me truly feel

I look up at the balls of light

I wonder if they shine for me tonight?

I know it's short and there's alot of rhyming but I decided to try a poem like this. Please tell me what you think. Thankyou!
