For Anna

For Anna

A Poem by Bev
"

This poem I wrote for a friend when she went through her second miscarriage.

"

As I sit here, a tear slips away
I put my hand to my face
And a sigh escapes
A friendship formed so long ago
Both of us have lost so greatly
This sick world seems darker lately
It's a time to stick together
Don't let us fall apart
Even with our broken hearts
You've grown to mean so much to me
I sit and stare right at my phone
It breaks my heart to think you're all alone
Cry your tears, little baby Baileys' deserves
But, let us be there for each other
Like one sister to another

Your poem is simply stunning. I can analyze it in two ways. The first is that times are getting tough and the protagonist wants to keep the friendship strong. The second is that two friends had a rocky friendship and the protagonist wants to become closer to their friend and for all the troubles to melt away.

It was really beautiful and almost made me cry. That's a good thing too; I almost never cry while reading a poem or story even though I am overemotional.

This is /really/ good.

I'm still trying to figure out just how to describe it.
