You Showed me the Universe

You Showed me the Universe

A Poem by Laura Harrison

You came to me
Like the perfect gift on Christmas Day
Minus the wrapping paper and pretty bow
But I am still unwrapping you-
Still learning new things about you
Still uncovering your secrets
And someone once told me
Not to waste my life getting to know someone
Because I will never truly know them,
Not really
And that may be true
But since I met you
You made me realise that I don't even know myself
You made me see my true potential
Made me see that I am worth more
That there is a whole universe inside me
Waiting to escape
And I am finally ready to let that happen.
If you can make me feel that good and confident about myself
I will happily waste the rest of my life getting to know you
Because I know that there is a universe inside you too.

Love is an art, or should be, many lose the focus of that...getting to know someone should take a lifetime if it is true love...beautiful piece hon xo

Getting to know someone is never a waste of time when they are a worthwhile human being.
