In her dreams

She closes her eyes, 

heavy from the efforts of making it through another day..

Beneath her fluttering eyelids,

 her mind begins to play. 

She dreams of a time, not so far away, 

where the sun shines more than the clouds hover

a time when she's excited to explore the adventures of the day,

 and not hide in her bed under the covers. 

Her breath is feathery and light, effortless.

Her skin is glowing, flawless.

In her dreams she is at peace,

there is not a thing to bring anxiety

In her dreams she is free,

her mind can finally rest quietly.
