Despair

Despair

A Poem by Papatunde

Pain, despair and anguish have all but defined me

It has groomed me

It has dissolved all the content I once had

All that is left is murkiness

I am now conscious that nothing is left

It has no importance nor relevance

Cuz it was taken and squandered

I came to believe a mere vacuous thought,an idea which one defines as love

For what is love?

It is simply emotional comfort for the weak

And in my life it seizes to exist

Hi Papatunde. Just saw that you joined the site recently, so let me be the first to welcome you!

I really like this poem. It is concise and takes the reader right through your emotional dilemma. I like pessimistic poems and this conveys and distributes just the right amount of pessimism to steal my interest.

'For what is love?
A perception,a belief ,an emotion
Doesnt matter because it seizes to exsist'

Highlights your pain and growing disinterest in this so-called conception of love that is supposed to yield emotions of content rather than plants seeds of vulnerability that could grow to consume you. But this is just my perception.

Great poem

Love can be the above words. Can be a weakness. What are we without love? Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. Left the reader with something to think about.

I enjoyed this much. It has an eerie feeling to it of course, but logic seems to lurk around as well. Nice write!
