If a Bumblebee Can Fly, Why Can't I?

If a Bumblebee Can Fly, Why Can't I?

A Poem by Legion
"

Something goofy I just thought of from a pig's perspective on flight.

"

If a Bumblebee Can Fly, Why Can't I?

If a bumblebee can fly,

I must question why can't I?

Will I find success or die

If I should give it a try?

Pursuing the idyllic dream,

A chance at one clandestine scheme,

I run and with a mighty jump

Launch, through the air, this porcine rump.

For a moment of pure exhiliration

I become one with the avian nation.

But gravity, I find, is no friend of mine

And reality proves that this portly swine

Returns heavily with such a squishy thud

And lands on his dignity, rump in the mud.

Oh, Mr. Bumblebee

Won't you please, please tell me

All the secrets of your success

And stop laughing at my distress?

Very cute message, though I sort of get the feeling that you tried too hard to make it rhyme and in some places it didn't flow as nicely as other places. But that's just me, and I like to feel a certain rhythm when I read.

I absolutely enjoyed the little story that it told though. Nice job!

i absolutely love this.
beneath the humor,
it is very deep, very moving.

I love this! And I do like rhyme.. depending on the write,
and it fits this one perfectly. Your writing always has great
meter ... it flows like silk.

And then there's the humorous aspect of it, which I always
enjoy immensely :-D. And which here is telling a tale
of depth... clothed in laughs.. nice!

Great job as always my friend!

I would have rather seen a poem without rhyme. I really don't like rhyme very often. Sorry.
I truly love the concept; usually I also thoroughly enjoy seeing what you can think of to write.
This wasn't my favorite.
The flow was good, I'll give you that.
The rhyme still ruined it for me.
Sorry?
Send me read requests whenever you want, BTW. I'll make it up to you next time. :)

If a bumblebee can fly,
I must question why can't I?

A perfect beginning to a perfectly written tribute to those geniuses of flight, who are actually little helicopters!

(For a moment of pure exhiliration - exhilaration)

Great write!

LOL...is it "when pigs" or "donkeys" fly? Maybe both? Oh, right, it's when pig freezes over! This is very clever, very witty...thanks for the smile and I wouldn't change a thing.
