The Tower

The Tower

A Poem by Leo

the tower

out of
my hands
  a breaking ecstasy
 of tree branches
growing out of
the palms of my hands
fingers becoming leaves
toes roots
my body rendered, torn apart
 growing desolation transformation
living tendrils break through stone
fine fiber filaments
find their way through cracks
and I am on the outside
 growing around the tower
in which I was trapped
for so long
engulfing it
I am the tree
the tower is inside me
I am free
