~ Stench of Milk & Oats ~

A Poem by Misery

How I love dear Milk and Oats

Oats bedecked in Milky gowns

Yet...

Swift they wreak viciousness

Infamous for its ruthlessness

“Gas!” of prolonged torment

Apt to give no kindly peace

Yes...

Doest thou seek to drive me

Unto open temptress arms

Of fatted food, of salt-rich snack?

Wherefore hast thou done this?

Yes...

Whither hast thy compassion fled?

I’ve forsaken all others

All salty treats and fat delights

For the slacking kisses of thee

Yet..

Is there not within thee

Some quality of mercy?
