Girl In A Garden

Girl In A Garden

A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

Das Land ist licht und dunkel ist die Laube - Rainer Maria Rilke

"
The land is light, but dark the arbour
Your face broken with hair, your hands
Curled in your lap,you sleep under greenery

The morning has stopped, do not fear
That I will leave your shadow, let me
While in the coolness, here and eternal.

"...do not fear that I will leave your shadow, let me" Like the breeze and sullen leaves, go where you must

Your poetry is very vivid and sharp in its ability to hone in on an image and caress it lovingly.

A very beautiful and peaceful poem.
The picture it paints is outstanding as I see it in my mind.

this one made me pause in my breathing...i felt the light trying to illuminate her and the shadows protecting...the coolness of the shelter, and then the cool of eternity...

she is resting...she is protected, and the morning has stopped for her.
