A Poem by Leslie Philibert
"

as it is

"
 Putting words together is a devolution of self;

the soft underwash of sea darkens sand,
a faded sun burns out over rooftops of rain,
a snow train stops in frost, under polar stars;

but this is beyond me, over the edge.

Very few words but much said. One question though, where you live just what does a snow train do? Never heard of one before. Valentine

A powerfully done poem. Love the imagery in this.

A very strong poem. Very stark in its expressions but your imagery is so very creative. It brings a unique depth and experience to your poems. Wonderful!

You have a beautiful expression to your poetry, awe inspiring Leslie, I am always amazed when I read you, you strip poetry to its bare essentials and give it a backbone that stands on its own for a long time afterwards, stunning...

wow a "devolution of self"

we put words together as poets and they show our soft underneath, they show what's beyond our own comprehension of feelings....they reflect under stars...and the train, the theme of our lives stops in the frost that keeps our heart cold.

Never thought of beautiful irony before but that last line.
