A Hug

A Hug

A Poem by Christine

A Hug.

Spelled H-U-G

Written on paper.

By definition, an Embrace between two people.

        You and I.

To be Squeezed tightly in your arms,

With fondness.

With affection.

It's a gesture that can be used to

Console

              Congradulate

                                     Comfort.

An embrace that can mean

Hello

          Goodbye

                          Thank You.

But this one was promised.

This is what you owe me.

My prize.

A debt that will be collected.

Because from you,

          It's worth it.

To have our arms around each other,

Our bodies close,

The warmth of your neck.

          It's worth it.

Because in this case,

When broken down as much as possible,

A Hug.

Means I love you.
