Who's That Girl?

Who's That Girl?

A Poem by Elizabeth C

This is not a Poem but can be similar to one. I've decided to make a rap hoping to get some feedback and opinions on it. I have not finished it yet and hope for others to see a diff way of rap music.

"Who's That Girl?" by Elizabeth Camarillo

[Verse 1From the school lunch tables people start noticing this lonely girl from the

Corner of their eyes,

Who dances and captivates them with a mask of lies.

Not realizing that on the inside she cries.

She just stands in the back dancing to the beat

Not wanting to meet anyone new in the moment of heat.

She even comes up with her own moves when she tries.

As people ask to battle with her she declines in defeat

Even though she knows she's talented and those students could get beat.

When they look, all they see her wearing is plain inexpensive clothes

But at least she covers her toes and got a natural Mexican nose.

As she moves from one end to another from the past to the

present it shows how much she grows.

She seems confident in the way she takes a chance.

When others think of her they think of the word humble.

Knowing she'll be an outcast on her own stance.

Others will just smile when she mumbles.

During her own time listening to the rhythms

Gets her out of trouble.

Not wanting to be a rebel

But try to not fall and stumble.

Everyone just admires her from a far

not knowing she's got broken scars.

As she goes to class she sits still

Like a rack of closed glass jars.

She doesn't make a fuss over learning equations

Or the horrors of history invasions.

All she does is listen to the teacher

Not needing supervision.

She's uses her own moral compass instead of society's

Corruptions.

One day she'll be the god of the questionable superstitions

[Verse 2] No one really talks or confronts her,

since her life is stuck and has been brought down to

Reality of brutality.

She's never been seen smoking weed or living off creed.

yet she's young with no sense of stability.

Even when teachers know she does good deeds

Others around think she's going places,

When all she's been doing is living in a mind of

Torture that makes her faceless.

She tries to get better everyday

Working hard to be fearless

But eventually it gets tiring to

The point she ends up careless.

She's the type that others might like,

By seeing her write and express herself without

Starting a strike.

The things she says may sound lame,

but one day she'll have fame and jump

to the charts before she even starts.

Not trying to be repetitive all

wanna do is be competitive.

Could you even resonate with this rap?

I be going fast spinning laps before you can even make

an effort to this crap.

[Outro]: She's the Dancing Elephant and she

Looks real elegant.

With the way she moves you know she isn't

A peasant or worthless in this present.

Now she's going to stay relevant.

One day she'll make her way to the hit charts

Before she even truly starts.

Everyone will praise her and make her their

Monument.

You'll never see her pushing carts

Or making mechanical parts.

In the future she'll have her own life document.

First time making an actual rap song. Hoping to find a new light on rap compared to other rap songs in today's culture. It resembles me and I'm talking about myself in the third person. Edited this!
